Bio Image

As vice president of marketing, Patricia Daiker, RN, BC, plays a vital role at MEDHOST by converting her in-depth product knowledge and understanding of emergency department (ED) needs into a strategic vision of MEDHOST’s growth and features. Her 20 years of nursing experience and first-hand knowledge of EDs give her a unique insight into the present and future needs of our Customers, helping guide product development while ensuring the software exceeds Customer expectations.

Daiker oversees all marketing initiatives, including development of marketing and sales collateral, Customer messages, tradeshow materials, and our web presence. In addition, she contributes to product development by gathering and writing requirements for new product features, ensuring clinical usability. She also works directly with Customers and clinicians to help them better understand product functionality.

At MEDHOST, Daiker has created an automated methodology for facility evaluation and management (E&M) coding, participated in strategic releases of all MEDHOST modules since version 2.0, and is involved in R&D for future market opportunities. She created and supervises the Clinical Analyst Team that provides the medical expertise to ensure MEDHOST’s features meet the tough standards of the clinical end user. In addition, as MEDHOST’s Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) officer, she instituted HIPAA business associate agreements between MEDHOST associates and Customers, allowing MEDHOST associates to be real partners in resolving Customer issues while maintaining patient privacy.

Daiker joined MEDHOST as a clinical analyst and quickly transitioned to product manager over (consecutively) data and reports, nurse charting, physician documentation, and order entry. Her capacity to grasp the changing needs of the ED is derived from 10 years of experience as a certified emergency nurse in a Level I trauma center, and from her work in bone marrow transplant, medical/surgery, and intensive care departments. At Baylor University Medical Center, Daiker developed her leadership skills while serving the hospital as a project coordinator for a charge capture initiative. In addition, she developed and implemented a new employee health software system as well as a system-wide tuberculosis surveillance program for the hospital.

Daiker is active in her community, volunteering her time to the American Diabetes Association “America’s Walk for Diabetes” for several consecutive years. Daiker received an associate degree in nursing from Lincoln Land Community College, School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Woman’s University, and is board certified in nursing informatics.
