Senior Software Developer - 2/29/12
MEDHOST, Inc., a provider of Emergency Department software solutions
located in Plano, TX is seeking a Senior Software Developer. You will be responsible for working independently or with a small team of engineers in developing new features and maintaining existing software programs designed using C++. You will provide work estimates, create designs, develop code modules, and integrate software. Software engineers are expected to work with limited supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Software development, driven by clinical requirements and analysis
- Team leadership and project management
- Software defect resolution
- Documentation and communication of project details

Collaboration and Customer problem resolution, in conjunction with the Software Quality Assurance and Customer Solutions Group
Professional Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Project Management and Leadership skills
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision
- Ability to build an atmosphere of trust and openness
- Possesses strong time management and organization skills
- High level of initiative, self-direction, and accountability for actions required
- Ability to develop, monitor, and track the progress of an action plan
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of manager, clients, Customers, and the general public
- Healthcare technology experience is preferred
- Familiarity with HL7 is preferred
Technical Requirements
- Five years of software development experience
- Thorough knowledge of software development lifecycles
- Experience with all Windows platforms
- Strong skills with Microsoft Visual Studio
- Applicable software development language skill, in Visual C# / .NET 3.X / WCF / WPF or HTML 5
- Skills with XML, DHTML and XSL/XSLT
- Object-oriented design skills
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor’s Degree required or 4 years equivalent experience in a related field
- Industry standard technical certification preferred
- Project management experience preferred
