Seamless Integration of Discrete Data

While creativity is thinking about new things, innovating is DOING new things. At MEDHOST we are leading the market in integration and proving we are innovators.

Integration has an evolving definition in the healthcare IT industry but MEDHOST defines integration as the virtual desegregation of systems and the seamless flow of data from our EDIS into any HIS. We define it as solving our Customers “pains.”

We share our Customers’ passion for top quality patient care, and that is why we’re focused on developing and delivering new capabilities that benefit caregivers and patients alike. We built the discrete data interface to remove a major information sharing barrier common in healthcare today.

Our discrete data interface allows patient information recorded in the ED to flow seamlessly from MEDHOST into any HIS, where it pre-populates inpatient charts. Medication allergies, the initial admission assessment and home medications are just a few examples of the data that can transfer to the inpatient records.

Discrete data sharing also removes redundant questioning and data gathering which enables floor nurses to start care at a deeper level. Sharing information between MEDHOST and the HIS improves chart accuracy and decreases medical errors by guaranteeing critical information is readily available.

By advancing system interoperability, Customers like Conway Medical Center in Conway, S.C., are experiencing improved chart accuracy, patient safety, satisfaction and clinical workflow.

Conway leverages the discrete data sharing capability so that the following seamlessly move from MEDHOST into its MEDITECH HIS:

  • patient's name
  • home medications
  • height and weight
  • allergies
  • past medical and surgical history
  • code status
  • immunization and vaccination status

We are excited to break down the interoperability barrier and this new capability is just the beginning. We just held an internal Integration Celebration to kick off these efforts and discuss the new frontier for MEDHOST’s innovative solutions.

We look forward to sharing these advanced solutions with you and bringing the power of integration and discrete data sharing to your ED.
