MEDHOST in 2010
2010 is off to a great start and there are many exciting things happening at MEDHOST. As we continue our mission to ensure Customer satisfaction and introduce significant new software solutions for the healthcare market, we have taken several proactive and pre-emptive steps to facilitate expansion – in corporate structure, product offerings and financial strength.
In the current landscape of healthcare IT it is important for MEDHOST to become a much bigger company to insure our longevity. On January 29, HealthTech Holdings, the parent company of HMS acquired MEDHOST. This acquisition makes MEDHOST part of a $100 million dollar company which will allow us to rapidly grow our business especially in support and development. We will continue to provide the same great Customer service and product solutions you have come to expect and you’ll still have your same MEDHOST Associates supporting your account, but we’ll have the resources to do it even better and faster.
One immediate benefit will be a focus on improving our already strong integration platform. Working with HMS to provide an integrated EDIS product specific to their market size, means MEDHOST Customers will reap the benefits of even stronger interoperability. With ARRA and the HITECH act, the days of silos of information are fading quickly. The new regulations are demanding interoperability between EHR systems, health information exchanges (HIE), integrated delivery networks (IDN) and personal health records. Now more than ever, your EDIS must function as a seamless interface to your HIS and MEDHOST can make it happen.
This week we are also officially announcing OpCenter to the marketplace. OpCenter is a house-wide throughput solution which provides visibility about patient flow throughout your hospital. From your ED, the new front door where over 60% of admissions present, to each floor of your hospital, to staffing levels – this web-based tool clearly illustrates flow issues within your organization and empowers leaders to immediately take action versus tedious fact finding so common in hospitals today. In the relatively short time OpCenter has been in production, the impact has been phenomenal. Admit times have decreased, internal processes have changed, daily bed meetings are becoming a thing of the past and hospital leadership is empowered with real-time, accurate information about their operations. We are excited to introduce OpCenter at HIMSS, if you will be in Atlanta, please stop by our booth (#6303), say hello and take a look at our newest addition to the MEDHOST suite of solutions.
