Bill Anderson, Chairman and CEO
Bill Anderson has been the CEO of MEDHOST since August 2012 and chairman since June 2008. Previously, he was a consultant to the company from June 2009 to August 2012.
Bill has over 30 years of experience in the technology and financial industries serving as CEO of several companies including Universal Tax Systems, Inc. (UTS), Bankrate, Inc. and Block Financial Corporation. Before joining MEDHOST, he served as CEO at UTS, publisher of the TaxWise – a suite of professional income tax preparation software. He has originated a number of innovative technology applications and holds a patent on delivering online financial services using distributed objects.
He received a Master of Business Administration from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Auburn University. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Nashville Technology Council.
Todd Redmon, Chief Operating Officer
Todd Redmon joined MEDHOST in 2010 and is responsible for leading the company’s account management, sales, marketing, education, and all customer support operations. Additionally, he is President of the MEDHOST Business Services division which provides revenue cycle services for hospitals nationwide.
Previously, he held a series of leadership positions in operations, manufacturing, and support over a period of 10 years with Dell. His experience also includes managing a 500-employee call center serving global commercial services with technical support and solutions for multiple hardware, software, and network customer needs.
Ken Misch, President and Chief Financial Officer
Ken Misch joined MEDHOST in 2013 and is responsible for financial oversight. He is also in charge of continuous cutting-edge innovation and optimization for MEDHOST’s Information Technology hosted, managed, and cloud-based solutions. During his 25 years in executive and leadership positions with various healthcare and technology companies, Ken’s experience spans mergers and acquisitions, public and private equity financing including IPOs, complex debt and tax structures, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, investors, and financial analysts. Before joining MEDHOST, Ken served as CFO at DynaVox and has held other CFO and financial positions with companies including invivodata, Inc., Expedient Communications, Printcafe Software, STERIS Corporation, and Price Waterhouse. Ken is a Certified Public Accountant and received a Master of Business Administration from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
Jason Myers, Chief Information Officer
Jason is responsible for defining and delivering IT strategy and capabilities across the enterprise including infrastructure, security, technical services, and cloud services. Additionally, Jason is also responsible for giving oversight and direction to IT and business leaders on strategy, standards, and opportunities for shared services and economies of scale.
Jason joined MEDHOST in 2013 and has held several positions in IT including: Sr. Systems Architect; Director of Engineering, Hosting and Managed Services; and Sr. Director, IT Engineering & Managed Services. Prior to joining MEDHOST, he has worked for various organizations in the Manufacturing, Banking, and Healthcare fields.
Kenneth Barfield, Executive Vice President, General Counsel
Kenneth joined MEDHOST in 2010 as General Counsel and is responsible for oversight of all legal matters. He previously served as General Counsel of Universal Tax Systems/Taxwise (UTS), a publisher of tax preparation and electronic filing software and provider of electronic filing services, from 1993 to 2006. During that period, he also served in roles as chief financial officer and executive vice president of the company. After UTS was acquired by Wolters Kluwer in 2006, Kenneth served as the vice president of Legal of CCH Small Firm Services and Assistant General Counsel for Wolters Kluwer Tax and Accounting until 2010. He began his professional career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen & Company in Atlanta. He later practiced as an attorney, concentrating in corporate and tax matters at the Atlanta firm Kilpatrick & Cody (now Kilpatrick Townsend), and Hine, Carroll and Niedrach, Rome, Georgia. Kenneth received the Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and the Doctor of Law degree with honors from Georgia State University. He has earned a license as a certified public accountant, is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia and Tennessee and is a member of the American Bar Association.
Steve Starkey, Executive Vice President of Product
Steve Starkey was one of the founding programmers of the MEDHOST enterprise system. In 1998, Steve left the company and would play integral roles at several healthcare companies before rejoining MEDHOST in 2005 as the vice president of research and development. In his current role, Steve oversees and manages all daily development operations, including product management, program management, and quality analysis. During his time away from MEDHOST, Steve served as director of information systems at Community Health Systems, CIO at Behavioral Healthcare Corporation, and CIO at Ardent Health.
Rick Brown, Senior Vice President of Product Development
Rick’s healthcare information technology experience reaches back almost three decades. During his time in the HIT field, MEDHOST’s Senior Vice President of Product Development has seen the concept of EHR evolve from a basic idea for enhancing patient record systems to a nationwide standard for improving care delivery.
Joining the team in 1990 as a Software Programmer, Rick was one of the first people hired by MEDHOST, what was then Healthcare Management Systems, Inc. Since then he has held various positions within the company that have included leadership roles overseeing product development, quality control, and customer support.
Throughout his years with MEDHOST, Rick has made a number of significant contributions in support of our healthcare customers and has led many key initiatives. A few of his wins have included the organization’s fulfillment of Meaningful Use objectives, platform conversion of legacy applications to Java, implementation of agile development methodologies, and MEDHOST’s Quality Management System.
As a longtime leader for MEDHOST, Rick plays an essential role in ensuring our customers continued success through quality product development. His team consistently comes through for our customers by helping establish a clear pathway to enhanced care delivery and improved overall operations.
