The American Hospital Association Exclusively Endorses the Patient Flow Management Solution from MEDHOST
Chicago, April 14, 2014 – The American Hospital Association (AHA) today announced it has exclusively endorsed MEDHOST PatientFlow HD, a patient flow management solution. AHA Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of the AHA, awards the AHA Endorsement to products and services that help member hospitals and health care organizations achieve operational excellence. Following a proprietary due diligence process, MEDHOST PatientFlow HD was selected for endorsement because it provides real-time visibility to patient and process status information, which enables hospitals to proactively manage the efficient flow of patients through every stage of care.
Many hospitals and health care systems are focusing on improving patient flow as a key to enhancing overall hospital performance. As well as quality of care and patient satisfaction.1
“MEDHOST PatientFlow HD’s financial and operational decision support, comprehensive process management, and rich reporting capabilities distinguish it from traditional ‘bed management’ solutions,” said Anthony J. Burke, senior vice president, American Hospital Association and president & CEO, AHA Solutions, Inc. “It enables hospital leaders to make informed patient-throughput decisions that can help them meet patient safety goals while improving operational performance and enhancing the patient experience.”
Patient Flow and Care-
Through an intuitive display that offers powerful insight and access to real-time, enterprise-wide data, executives can immediately identify and take action on patient flow improvement opportunities. The Web-based tool presents an at-a-glance view of hospital capacity and processes, tracked against operational, financial and quality metrics, such as patient length of stay. Nursing leadership, bed management, environmental services, clinical quality and other departments can also easily access and update status and performance information, making it possible for all areas of the hospital to contribute to improved patient flow and care.
“We are honored to have our patient flow management solution, PatientFlow HD, selected by the American Hospital Association for this endorsement, which is only awarded to solutions that align with the Association’s mission of fostering operational excellence in hospitals,” said Craig Herrod, president of MEDHOST. “Patient flow issues erode a hospital’s bottom line, and if not managed effectively, can result in serious financial penalties. MEDHOST looks forward to working together with American Hospital Association to help hospitals gain transparency into their patient flow issues. So, they can more easily manage day-to-day operations and achieve tangible patient care and financial benefits.”
