The CommonWell network provides a secure, nationwide exchange of health records for more than 34,000 provider sites and includes more than 191 million unique individuals. Through this initiative, MEDHOST customers can now take advantage of an automated solution to facilitate the transfer and access of patient information.
The process can start as early as pre-registration or can be initiated when patients arrive for check-in. Here, they can choose to have their medical information securely shared with other network providers through the CommonWell Health Alliance.
By opting in, patients permit clinicians to retrieve medical histories from other CommonWell-partnered entities through a single click within MEDHOST solutions. As they move between providers and instances of care, the patient’s clinical information, such as allergies, home medications, and problems, are available via CommonWell to immediately enhance the comprehensive patient care experience.
