DirectTrust accreditation creates new option for MEDHOST Customers to securely share patient data
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – May 19, 2015 – In another step to advance Customers’ secure data exchange as prescribed by Meaningful Use requirements, MEDHOST is extending the benefits of DirectTrust membership through its Health Information Service Provider (HISP), Secure Exchange Solutions (SES), a DirectTrust member accredited by DirectTrust.org/EHNAC. As a non-profit alliance of HISPs, DirectTrust provides a simplified way for the secure exchange of healthcare data to known and trusted recipients via the Internet.
This partnership can help MEDHOST Customers more easily meet Meaningful Use Core Measure 12. The measure requires providers to send data electronically and securely via secure messaging (MEDHOST Enterprise Customers can do so using Community Mail).
Affiliation with DirectTrust and Secure Exchange Solutions provides several advantages for MEDHOST Customers. For example, the YourCareUniverse healthcare engagement platform now includes unique DirectTrust email capabilities, giving Customers another option for bi-directional communication with patients.
Electronic Health Record-
MEDHOST’s integrated, inpatient electronic health record (EHR) benefits from DirectTrust inside the Community Mail product. So clinicians can create, send, receive and read secure messages related to their patients.
