AHA Executive Roundtable to Feature Proven and Innovative Successes in Patient-Flow Optimization

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – July 23, 2015 –Hospital leaders from across the country will join the American Hospital Association (AHA) to discuss “Optimizing and Streamlining Patient Flow” during an executive roundtable and luncheon. The July 30 event in Philadelphia is part of the AHA Signature Learning Series™, and will focus on the real-world results from Customers of MEDHOST, the leader in patient-flow solutions.

Roundtable attendees will learn about the critical role they play in improving care coordination and increasing patient satisfaction while reducing costs through streamlining the flow of patients in their facilities. The event will also discuss results from AHA’s research and the organization’s view of how the healthcare industry is entering the “second curve” of patient-flow and what that means for providers.

The event will feature executives from Beaufort Memorial Hospital, a 197-bed facility in Beaufort, South Carolina, and SwedishAmerican Health System, a 333-bed, Illinois organization, explaining how they used key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize and streamline patient-flow processes. They will also discuss the benefits they have experienced, including better coordinated care, reduced length of stay (LOS) and significantly decreased costs.

“Optimizing and Streamlining Patient Flow” is scheduled for Thursday, July 30, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. EDT. Because space is limited at this complimentary event, registration is required. Registration deadline is July 23, 2015.

Attendees will learn more about:

  • Insights from AHA’s Critical Conversations on Patient Flow from earlier this year about drivers in continued patient-flow improvements and how to reduce common obstacles to achieving them
  • The role senior leadership plays in improving care coordination, operational performance and the overall quality of care
  • How a patient-flow focused culture and staff education are important in improving patient throughput

“The healthcare industry is migrating toward value-based care, and for health systems to manage themselves effectively during this transition, they must understand how improving care coordination is at the heart of this transformation,” said Craig Herrod, president of MEDHOST. “The American Hospital Association plays a vital role in helping facilities recognize. Also, focus on change, and we’re excited that our Customers can be part of this event.”
