Solution includes patient portal, advanced analytics and CRM in offering
Chicago, Nov. 10, 2015 – The American Hospital Association (AHA) today announced it has exclusively endorsed the Health Care Consumer Engagement Platform from YourCareUniverse. Following a proprietary due diligence process, AHA Solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of the AHA, awards the AHA Endorsement to products and services that help member hospitals and health care organizations achieve operational excellence.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Stage 2 Meaningful Use incentive program for hospitals and care providers’ use of electronic health record (EHR) systems requires hospitals to provide an online portal for patients to view, download and transmit their health information and send it to other health care providers. In addition, to improve the patient experience and health outcomes, hospitals are striving to better serve patients’ needs and preferences by implementing consumer-centric engagement and communication techniques.
YourCareUniverse’s comprehensive Health Care Consumer Engagement Platform achieves consumer engagement through a patient portal, advanced analytics and consumer relationship management tool, all in a cloud-based, secure platform. The YourCareUniverse patient portal is certified for Meaningful Use Stage 2* for both in-patient and ambulatory settings, providing a consumer-centric portal for patients to view and download their health information and share it with other health care providers. It enables hospitals and health systems of any size to engage with their patients and physicians. Specifically, through a data-driven, integrated approach. It also includes a consumer-facing wellness and content site, enabling the provider community to engage and establish a relationship with health consumers before they become patients, with the objective of improving the health of a population.
The consumer engagement solution can be integrated with any MU2 certified EHR, and is accessible to patients on any browser-capable device. The portal affords patients and their caregivers secure, online access to their personal health records while facilitating interaction and health information exchange among hospitals, clinics, patients and providers.
The YourCareUniverse solution suite encourages patient portal adoption — and helps hospitals maintain a strong patient/consumer base — by engaging and empowering consumers to be in charge of their health through a single, hospital-branded platform. The platform allows consumers to securely message providers, download care instructions. Also, request appointments and prescription renewals, pay bills, track wellness and access health education. And through task automation and virtual patient interaction, it can aid in reducing hospitals’ operational costs. Moreover, with advanced analytics help providers to make intelligent patient-care decisions.
“Access to complete, longitudinal patient health records through YourCareUniverse’s Health Care Consumer Engagement Platform promotes providers’ coordination across the care continuum — helping them achieve high-quality, cost-effective care as they shift to a value-based, population-health-focused care model,” said Anthony J. Burke, senior vice president of the AHA, and president and CEO of AHA Solutions. “We found the platform stands out for its standards-based, vendor-agnostic architecture that will operate with any EHR. Furthermore, this consumer-centered platform is backed by YourCareUniverse’s consultation services. Moreover, it help hospital staff engage patients in its use across a variety of touchpoints, beginning with admissions.”
“We are proud that our Health Care Consumer Engagement Platform has met the AHA’s highest standards for excellence,” said Bill Anderson, CEO of YourCareUniverse. “The AHA’s exclusive endorsement verifies our advanced, patient- and consumer-centric portal platform’s value in enabling hospitals and health systems to engage consumers, enhance performance and serve as the epicenter for community health and wellness needs.”
