MEDHOST to Offer New ePrescribe Solution with its Latest Enterprise 2016 R1 Release

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – July 28, 2016 – MEDHOST, provider of innovative healthcare solutions is pleased to announce the availability of Enterprise version 2016 R1.1 Along with several order management enhancements, this release includes MEDHOST ePrescribe solution which is an optional module within Order Management that allows providers to electronically submit prescriptions at discharge. The ePrescribe process is completed using the discharge medication reconciliation screen within MEDHOST Order Management.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2017, ePrescribing will become a core Meaningful Use Stage 2 measure. For Meaningful Use Stage 2 attestation in 2016 and 2017, more than 10 percent of hospital discharge medication orders for permissible prescriptions (for new and changed prescriptions) must be queried for a drug formulary and transmitted electronically using Certified Electronic Health Record Technology (CEHRT). However, beginning in 2018, successful attestation to Meaningful Use Stage 3 will require more than 25 percent of hospital discharge medication orders for permissible prescriptions to be processed in this manner.
